The Branson School District’s preschool program has earned national accreditation for its programs and services from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The preschool program is under the direction of Shelly Worley, Cedar Ridge Primary principal.
The Branson School District will begin its new year August 16. Students and parents are invited and encouraged to attend these Back to School and Open House sessions to visit the classroom and receive information about the upcoming school year. Online registration must be completed by August 1.
Registration for the 2016-2017 school year begins July 18 for students new to the Branson School District. Enrollment forms for all prospective students in grades K-12 may be completed any Monday through Thursday from July 18-21; and July 25-28. Office hours are 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Brad Swofford, district superintendent, was the guest speaker at the June 14 meeting of the Tri-Lakes unit of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. Topics of discussion included district goals, local funding and legislative issues facing Missouri school districts.
The Branson board of education is among 16 district boards to receive the Missouri School Boards’ Association 2016 Governance Team Award. This prestigious award is based on the board’s outstanding commitment to ongoing professional development in areas such as student achievement, school law and finance, board operations and contemporary issues in education.
