About Our School

Welcome to Branson Elementary East, where we work together with you to prepare all of our learners for life. Here at Branson Elementary East, we envision a school where the learning community unites to promote the success of every student and exemplifies effective leadership in all areas.

We set high expectations for the ones we serve as well as ourselves, and then strive every day to give each of our students the support they need to exceed those goals. We do this with a team approach – everyone is involved and accountable for the learning that takes place in the East building.

Four days a week, Monday through Thursday, we have built in an added layer of support for every level of learner. Each of our students are grouped and instructed specific to their needs. So if you enter our building between 2:50 and 3:35 on those days, you will see students grouped all over the building and everyone at work on targeted skills. Then twice a year, we celebrate students reaching their targeted growth. We are excited to report that 2010-2011 was the 3 rd consecutive year, we had approximately 90% of our students reach their goal in either Reading or Math or both, and we hope to continue at least that level of success again this year. Students and staff in the East building are excited about learning every day.

For the 2011-12 school year, our character theme is “Call of Honor”. We have all of our troop members (our entire student population) in our gymnasium each Monday morning at 8:45 to kick off a week of learning and good character. Character assemblies are a fun-filled exciting time where we showcase shared leadership by students, teachers and special community guests. We invite you to join us!

The East building is embarking on our 2 nd year of PBS (Positive Behavior Support), which promotes positive behaviors in students. Strategies are developed that manage student behavior in classroom settings and outside of classroom settings. All of our students are accountable with support, to behave in ways that positively affect them personally, academically, and socially. We will keep you updated as we move forward with this initiative. You may view our Pirate Pledge matrix on our building web page.
