11/23/10 Registration is now closed. 11/12/10 - IMPORTANT UPDATE: We have had a tremendous response to the Owney project, which is so exciting. Due to the large amount of responses, the time slots for the "real Owney" to visit schools are full. But, you can still participate by having the "virtual Owney visit. I will be sending email messages this weekend to let you know if you will be receiving the real Owney, and I will check with those who have already registered to see if you are willing to have the "virtual Owney" visit if I wasn't able to fit you in the mailing schedule. Thank you for your interest, and we hope to have many schools still participate in the project virtually so we can learn about more towns in our great state of Missouri! Registration closes on Tuesday, November 23. To participate in the project, fill out the registration form. You must agree to pay the shipping to send Owney on to the next school. Delivery confirmation is required, and you must send the tracking number to Mrs. Matzat, the project host. Please ship on your required mailing date to keep the project on schedule. If you can’t afford to pay to ship Owney, you can still be part of the project by having our “virtual Owney” visit your school. Be sure to mark this option on the registration form if you want the virtual Owney to visit instead of the real one. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with the dates you should receive and send Owney. You will also receive access to be able to post to the blog.
