We create clay animations in second grade. The students write a story as a class with the homeroom teacher. The students then create the clay fiqures,edit and add sound in Art. These movies are then shown during our district technology night.

We began making Stop Action Movies on Movie Maker. Our first ones were of any action you could create. The next year we created Lifecycles, Personal Narratives, and Nature walks. The following year we created Math Movies of story problems. Our Math scores increased and we had fun in the process. So the directions above are for the animated story problems. But you will find it very adaptible.
