  • BHS Jazz Ensemble Takes Second

    The BHS Jazz Ensemble competed at the Drury Jazz Festival last Saturday. The competition included Olathe Northwest, Willard, Battle (Columbia, MO), Republic, Parkview and Carthage. Branson earned second place among the Class 5 ensembles competing. The musicians are under the direction of Daniel Jarrett.

  • Math Students Advance to State

    Hollister High School hosted a Great Plains Math League (GPML) contest last Saturday. The BHS Math Team was among the 44 students representing six area teams in the competition. The students are under the direction of Barb Cogdill and Lora Niles.

  • Culinary Team Competition

    The BHS Culinary Team competed at the ProStart Invitational last Friday. The event was held at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center in Springfield. The competition required each team to plan and create a three-course meal for the judges. Branson placed 12th out of the 16 teams competing statewide.

  • CRI Supports Crisis Center

    Students at Cedar Ridge Intermediate focused on the word empathy for the month of February. To link an action to their February word, they chose to support the Crisis Center of Taney County by stocking the center’s shelves with personal hygiene items. The items are given to those staying at the Crisis Center who are victims of domestic abuse.

  • JH Science Night Results

    Junior High science winners were announced February 8. The competition involved science experiments designed and researched by the students. It was open to all seventh and eighth graders and organized by the Junior High science faculty.

  • Students Attend Legislative Day

    The BHS chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the Career and Technical Students Organization (CTSO) Missouri Legislative Day. The event was held February 13 in Missouri’s Capitol building in Jefferson City. The annual event is hosted by Missouri’s Legislative Committee with a goal of inspiring new leaders and encouraging communication with legislators.

  • District Hosts Social Media Forum

    The district is hosting a series of three informational meetings this spring that will focus on the topic Parenting in the Digital Age. The series is designed to provide parents, staff and our Branson community with information on the many ways social media is used in our school and home environment.

  • Math Students Compete

    The BHS Math Team competed in the Great Plains League contest held on the OTC-Richwood Valley campus on February 8. The competition field included 207 students representing 15 area schools. The students are under the direction of Barb Cogdill and Lora Niles.

  • FBLA Students at Leadership Conference

    The Future Business Leaders of America Leadership Conference for District 18 was held February 5 on the campus of Missouri State University. There were 20 area schools in attendance with 500 students competing in events such as accounting, computer applications and business ethics.

  • Dance Team Takes Second at MSU

    The BHS Sweethearts Dance Team placed second at the Missouri State University Sugar Bears Invitational last Saturday. The dance was entitled Dare. The annual contest is open to high school dancers throughout Missouri.
