Branson Public School is excited to welcome and register Kindergarten students for the 2020-21 academic year. The first day of kindergarten is an important day in a child’s life. However, before leaping into the new school year, Branson teachers and families need to partner now with a few small steps to ensure a smooth first day of school for everyone. It’s as easy as 1-2-3.
Step 1) Watch the Welcome to Kindergarten video by Dr. Worley, Principal of Cedar Ridge Primary and Dr. Hawkins, Principal of Buchanan Elementary School.
Step 2) Sign-Up for a developmental screening. Developmental kindergarten screenings evaluate a child’s emotional, social and cognitive developmental readiness. Developmental screenings help kindergarten teachers meet students’ individual needs on the first day of school. Linked is an interactive map of the district to determine which school your child will attend.
Step 3) Registration for all prospective Kindergarten students is scheduled August 3-7 between 8 a.m. and 3:00 p.m at the district offices. The following documentation must be presented at the time of enrollment: verification of age (birth certificate); proof of residency in the district (property tax receipt; current utility bill, rent receipt); and up-to-date immunization records.
