Project Tools

Below you will find links to tools you can use when creating projects. Be sure you credit these sources properly if you use them when creating a project. We know that the image feature in Google is popular with students and teachers because it is so easy to use. But the truth is that most of the images found on Google are protected by copyright and require permission. Librarians often call Google images the "shark tank" of copyright. Students need to be aware that giving credit is not the same as having permission to use an image. We recommend students and teachers try one of these "copyright friendly" sites instead. Be sure to pay attention to the "terms of use" for each of these sites. It can vary for each website and even for individual images within one website. (blurb from Liberty Schools)

Images for your projects

Photos for Class

Photos for Class helps you find images for projects and helps you document them correctly. The site automatically adds a black ribbon across the bottom of the image with the appropriate attribution. Plus, it provides a link to the original in Flickr, in case you want the image without the attribution on it so you can add it somewhere else.

"Pics4Learning is a safe, free image library for education. Teachers and students can use the copyright-friendly photos & images for classrooms, multimedia projects, websites, videos, portfolios, or any projects in an educational setting."

Discovery Education

"User may incorporate images from the Product’s image library into multimedia productions, print productions and broadcasting projects (i.e., closed-circuit television or cable television), which may be viewed by both Users and non-Users, provided that the images may not be altered, nor used for any commercial purpose." You must log in to use this site.
