    4,3,2,1 Blast Off!

This summer learn online AND for a few hours a week at school about two fun yet important topics: robots and space.    We will learn, as we begin to think like astronauts, engineers, and researchers. During summer school, 30 students will check out & be responsible for a LEGO® EV3 Robot.  They will program and test their robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of mission challenges each week then submit short videos showing they accomplished those missions before their next assignment will be given.  Each day we will check in online and Mrs. Bronn/Mrs. Houston will be available to help with problems as they arise. One morning a week, see dates below, students will come to Cedar Ridge for some 'Out of this World' robot challenge fun. We will have 2 of those afternoons available for ‘open lab’ additional face to face help if needed.  Students will bring their robots to class each week and be ready to put what they learned to the test for Challenge Morning Missions. The last day of summer school, parents are invited to an Open House to see mission challenges and what we have been learning in the area of space. Come join the fun in and out of the classroom!

STEM Online Summer School Session (grades 3-6)

Have you ever wondered if you could survive alone on a deserted island? In Online STEM Summer School, you will have the chance to test your survival skills!

You will use research to learn the science behind building houses, bridges, and catapults. You will also learn about how to make items that are waterproof and can float! Your final task will be to come to school one day to apply what you learned to complete STEM challenges that test your survival skills. Everyone will be provided a basic set of supplies, but by successfully completing research assignments during the course, you will earn points that you can use to purchase special materials to complete your challenges!

    Will you survive?
