  • Students of Good Character Honored

    The Junior High School hosted a breakfast last May 8 to celebrate and honor students who exemplified the best in character traits throughout the 2018-2019 school year. Two students were chosen from each building to receive recognition at the celebration.

  • Retirees Honored with Reception

    A reception was held May 8 for 19 employees who will retire at the end of this school year. The reception was held in the district offices.

  • Senior Scholarships and Awards

    The Branson High School Senior Awards Night was held last Monday in the high school auditorium. Academic awards and scholarships totaling $8.8 million were presented to members of the graduating class of 2019.

  • Construction at Cedar Ridge Begins May 17

    The Cedar Ridge campus parking lots will undergo extensive renovation this summer. Beginning Friday, May 17, the parking lots between the buildings will be closed to all traffic. Renovation is expected to be completed by August 1.

  • FFA State Contest Results

    BHS had 20 FFA members who qualified to compete at the Missouri State Convention held in Columbia on April 25 and 26. This number is an all-time high for Branson competitors at the state level. The students are under the direction of Nicole Crocker and Aaron Magnuson.

  • Dawson Named Executive Director of Instruction

    Mike Dawson, currently the Chief Learning Officer for Springfield Public Schools, will be the new Executive Director of Instruction for the Branson School District next school year. He returns to Branson after serving as principal at the Cedar Ridge campus from 2003-2012.

  • Duke TIP Participants Honored

    The Drury Center for Gifted Education, in partnership with the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP), will honor over 400 of Missouri’s most promising young scholars at a recognition ceremony held May 24 at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.

  • State Vocal & Ensemble Ratings

    Branson High School vocalists competed at the MSHSAA State Solo and Ensemble Contest held on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia April 26 and 27. The district contest was held in March and those achieving exemplary ratings advanced to the state contest. They are under the direction of Jacob Carlew.

  • BHS State Band Contest Results

    The MSHSAA State Solo and Ensemble Contest was held April 26-27 in Columbia. The BHS band program had nine students who competed at the state level by earning top scores at the district level earlier this spring. The students are under the direction of Daniel Jarrett, Joe Presson and John Kelly.

  • BHS has National FBLA Qualifier

    More than 5,000 students participated in the Missouri Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Conference April 14-16 in Springfield. The conference featured workshops, keynote speakers and professional networking opportunities for high school students.

  • Math Students Compete at State

    Six members of the BHS Math Team competed at the state level of the Great Plains Math Contest held on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. The students qualified for the state contest earlier this year by achieving advanced scores at the district level of competition.

  • BHS Captures Third at Math Contest

    BHS had 13 students compete in the annual College of the Ozarks math contest held April 17. The competition included 15 area schools with seven competing in the large school division. Branson won third place, overall, in the large school division.

  • JH Math Team Takes Second

    Branson Junior High was awarded second place overall in the 3A-4A division at the College of the Ozarks Math Contest held April 16. The students are under the direction of LeAnn Kennedy.

  • Students Tackle Social Media Fast

    The BHS Interact Club, an extension of the Branson-Hollister School Rotary Club, sponsored its first annual social media fast last week. The club gathered 45 volunteers who agreed to give up social media during April 15-21.

  • Bands Earn Exemplary Rating at State

    The BHS Concert Band and the BHS Symphonic Band competed at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble on April 11 at Nixa High School.

  • McTeacher Night Raises Money for District

    The Ruprecht Organization, owners of area McDonald’s restaurants, donated a percentage of all proceeds from sales during McTeacher Night to our schools. Ruprechts sponsor the event each fall and spring with proceeds used to benefit students.

  • Math Winners at BI and CRI

    Southwest Baptist University hosted the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics regional contest April 6. Mathematicians from Buchanan Intermediate and Cedar Ridge Intermediate participated in the competition by qualifying in district contests held earlier in the school year. The students are under the direction of Shannon Pagan (Buchanan) and Nancy Wray (Cedar Ridge). Awards were given to those who placed among the top five in each category.

  • Assistant Principals Named at Buchanan

    The Buchanan campus will welcome two new assistant principals for the 2019-2020 school year. Jared Howerton has been named assistant principal at Buchanan Elementary and Tyler Prochazka will be the assistant principal at Buchanan Intermediate.

  • Swofford Named Outstanding New Superintendent

    Brad Swofford, superintendent, has been named one of eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding achievement as a new superintendent. This award is presented annually to those who are in their second or third year of employment as a superintendent and have made a measurable contribution to the district which they serve.
