A School Resource Officer (SRO) is now part of the team at the Cedar Ridge campus. Officer Corey Hodzic began his duties last week as he spent time in all three elementary buildings. He will be a permanent fixture on the campus as he builds relationships with students and staff. Officer Hodzic’s salary is funded by the City of Branson through its Safety Tax that was approved by voters last spring. An officer will also be added to the Buchanan campus in February and funded by the Safety Tax.
“We are appreciative of the Branson residents for their support and approval of the Safety Tax,” said Brad Swofford, superintendent. “The City agreed to use a portion of the tax revenues to fund two Resource Officers for our district and we will now have these officers on site.”
An SRO is already on the Junior High campus and High School campuses during the school year. With the elementary additions, the district will have an SRO on all four campuses.
