Students Attend Legislative Day

The BHS chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the Career and Technical Students Organization (CTSO) Missouri Legislative Day. The event was held February 13 in Missouri’s Capitol building in Jefferson City. The annual event is hosted by Missouri’s Legislative Committee with a goal of inspiring new leaders and encouraging communication with legislators.

The FBLA officers met with Representative Jeff Justus to review and discuss how Missouri’s career education is preparing young people for the job market and a postsecondary education. Career and Technical Student Organizations extend teaching and learning through innovative programs, business and community partnerships and leadership experiences. Branson High School offers the following CTSO opportunities to students: Future Business Leaders of America; Family Career and Community Leaders of America; Future Farmers of America; and Distributive Education Clubs of America.

The FBLA officers who met with Representative Justus are as follows: Ben Walworth, president; Razi Khan and Francesca Makuch, vice president of membership; Khushi Patel, vice president of relations; Amber Large and Morgan Ralls, vice president of communications; and Jacob Motley, secretary. The students were accompanied by their advisor, Alisa Cornelison.
