Hollister High School hosted a Great Plains Math League (GPML) contest last Saturday. The BHS Math Team was among the 44 students representing six area teams in the competition. The students are under the direction of Barb Cogdill and Lora Niles.
Results are as follows:
Athena Waddle – 1st place (tie); Sprint Round, 9th grade
Yijie Zhao – 1st place; Sprint Round, 11th grade
Jacob Motley – 2nd place; Sprint Round, 12th grade
Stone Hose – 1st place (tie); Target Round, 9th grade
Yijie Zhao – 1st place; Target Round, 11th grade
Jacob Motley - 3rd place; Target Round, 12th grade
The scores of J. Motley, Hose and Zhao qualified them to advance to the State GPML contest scheduled April 13. The contest will be held on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia. They will join Nathan Vijitbenjaronk, Tyke Wells, TJ Hauger, Ben Walworth and Sameerah Munshi who qualified for state at previous GPML contests.
