Brad Swofford, superintendent, has been named one of eight Missouri superintendents recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding achievement as a new superintendent. This award is presented annually to those who are in their second or third year of employment as a superintendent and have made a measurable contribution to the district which they serve. Swofford was nominated by his colleagues in the southwest district and honored at the MASA conference March 27.
Swofford earned both his graduate and undergraduate degrees from Missouri State University and a doctorate from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He has been a resident of Branson for the past 24 years when he began his career with the Branson School District. Swofford has been a classroom teacher, coach, building principal, assistant superintendent and has been district superintendent since January 2016.
