The BHS Student Council collected over 1,000 cans of food and $1,050 in donations to benefit others through the food pantry at Christian Action Ministries. The student-led initiative partnered with local businesses to fill the shelves at the food pantry. Collection bins were placed in businesses for patrons to donate food items and cash. Student Council members are under the direction of Todd Koon and Sunshine Ridinger.
Local businesses assisting the students with the canned food drive included: The Harbor Starboard Marinas; The Track Family Fun Parks, Doug Baker Insurance Agency; Motley Law Firm; Panda House; Hong Kong Buffet; En Vogue Nails and Spa; Cedar Bay Entertainment; Lou Danner-Reece Nichols Real Estate; Ozarks Family Vision Center; Dr. Joshua Pead; Tropical Smoothie Café; Yankee Candle; and Perfumania.
