Although the CDC does not recommend the use of facemasks for the general U.S. public, it does recommend that people take everyday preemptive actions to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses by adhering to the following:
While sick, limit contact with others.
Cover your nose and mouth when you cough and sneeze.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated.
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap is not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60% alcohol.

As a district, we are providing additional disinfectant for classrooms, bathrooms, buses and entry areas, along with high-touch areas (doorknobs and surfaces). Our custodial staff has participated in webinars on best practices for disinfecting surfaces throughout the buildings. Our nursing staff has access to the latest information from the county health department and the CDC for best practices to prevent the spread of viruses.
If you have questions regarding COVID-19 or specific questions about the flu and related viruses, please contact the Taney County Health Department at 417-334-4544.
