Eligibility Requirements: Previously having, or being enrolled in an agriscience class is not a requirement, but is preferred.
Time Commitment: The FFA programs and activities help members develop public speaking skills, conduct and participate in meetings, manage financial matters, strengthen problem-solving abilities and assume civic responsibility. Degrees earned at local, state and national levels recognize members' increasing accomplishments. Competitive events and awards programs in areas such as public speaking, animal production, commodity marketing and agriscience recognize students' achievements, encourage them to excel beyond the classroom and develop career skills. Community service programs help students contribute to society.
Meetings: FFA has monthly meetings and activities.
Procedure for Joining: Membership forms and dues of $15 must be turned in by September 30 each year.
Description: The FFA is a national organization with a membership of nearly 500,000 students across the country. It promotes premier leadership, personal growth, and career success. The FFA is a way to make friends and have fun.
Expectations: The FFA motto gives members twelve short words to live by as they experience the opportunities in the organization.
