It's Teacher Proud Tuesday!! This month we had the help of some outstanding seventh graders to surprise and honor Mrs. Alycia Johnston, our December Teacher Proud Tuesday honoree. Mrs. Johnston has been teaching for 19 years, all within the Branson School District.

"Known as 'Momma J' to her students, Mrs. Johnston is magnetic in her ability to welcome, connect with, and make each of her students believe they matter" says Dr. Bryan Bronn, principal at Branson Junior High.

She was nominated by several students and coworkers, all commenting on her inspiring, uplifting attitude and the way she creates fun, engaging learning activities for her students. One seventh grader wrote, "Mrs. Johnston makes learning math so real and so fun. I used to not like math near as much as I do now. She makes it where I can't wait to get to class."

Another student wrote, "She is always in a good mood. She has given me a 'spark' in my heart that you should always be kind to others no matter who they are or what they look like."

It's easy to see that Mrs. Johnston teaches so much more than math to her students and fellow teachers. We're so thankful for Mrs. Johnston and the continual outpouring she provides to those around her. We are #TeacherProud!
