We're thrilled to announce our April Pirate Proud recipient: Melody Alms! With 12 years of dedicated service in the Branson School District, Mrs. Alms has been a beacon of support and inspiration for our students and community. Her passion for education shines through in every aspect of her work, making her a true treasure at Buchanan Intermediate.

One nomination for Mrs. Alms perfectly captures her dedication: "Melody Alms is one of those teachers who is constantly working behind the scenes to make sure every student's needs are being met. She is an outstanding educator in the classroom, constantly working with her students to create a safe, positive environment." Her commitment to student welfare extends even beyond the classroom, evident in her co-founding of the Pirate Store at BI. This initiative ensures that students in need have access to essentials like clothing, toiletries, and shoes.

But Mrs. Alms' impact doesn't stop there! She plays a pivotal role in coordinating the annual Veterans Day reception and parade at BI, fostering a deep connection between our students and local veterans. Additionally, Mrs. Alms organizes a Christmas service project where students write letters and assemble care packages for active military personnel.

Dr. Matt Dean, principal of Buchanan Intermediate, says, "Melody's leadership and can-do attitude place her in the middle of so many things we do best as a school. She works tirelessly to make sure our students have a great experience during their time at BI. Melody Alms is truly one of a kind!"
