FBLA

Eligibility Requirements: To be involved with FBLA you must be in grades 9-12 and have great business sense. Being past or currently involved in a business course is not required, but is preferred.

Time Commitment: Once month meetings, various community service projects throughout the year, end-of-year field trip & competitions.

Meets: Meetings are held the first Friday of every month in room 100. All other Fridays, room 100 will be open to review competitions, plan service projects, etc.

Procedure for Joining: Dues are $20 per year which includes local, district, state & national dues along with a chapter t-shirt.

Description: Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a national education association with over 225,000 students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The association has four divisions:

  • Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for high school students;
  • FBLA Middle Level for junior high, middle, and intermediate school students;
  • Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) for postsecondary students;
  • Professional Division for businesspeople, FBLA-PBL alumni, educator and parents who support the goals of FBLA.

Missouri FBLA-PBL has nearly 17,000 members in 500 chapters across the state, making it the second largest chapter in the nation. Missouri FBLA members are active at district, state and national levels. The organization is hosted by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, under the direction of the Supervisor of Business Education for the State.

The FBLA-PBL mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Intra-curricular activities include career exploration, civic service, economic education and technical skill advancement. FBLA-PBL also works to encourage and support entrepreneurship.

Expectations: Members are expected to be involved with competitions, community service projects, as well as, attend our monthly meetings.
